Enhydriodon, the largest otter in history. Enhydriodon lived in the African savannas of the Miocene and was almost the size of a lion. Unlike its modern relatives, Enhidryodon was almost entirely terrestrial and likely couldn't have swum as well as modern otters. Judging by skull fragments, it had a muzzle similar to modern sea otters, but its teeth were already like those of freshwater otters. When I was colorizing it, I based it on a reconstruction from the documentary series "Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age."
