Now here is Bud's current design. And yes, he is married with a child to an alien. Her real name is Isabelle Francesco and she is an alien known as a mystic, named for their magical prowess. She was the one who gave Bud his prosthetic arms to allow him to work at full capacity, which was classified as the Bug Commando's allied faction, the Red Ant Army, didn't want the world to know about the existence of aliens, at least not yet.

when they first met, she went by the name Soman because she thought it was a badass sounding alien name, and kept up the name until they were married and had a kid they named Buman, a mystified spider. I say mystified because the DNA of any creature born from a mother or father mystic is always magically mutated into a pure-blooded mystic, and considering they're a warrior species with regenerative health like Wolverine and Deadpool, that's a definite upside.

Now, Isabelle was a former peacemaker, which is both a police and military force of the mystic government. There are also peacekeepers, a less-lethal counterpart to the peacemakers that Buman wishes to be a part of when he grows up so that he's bringing order to chaos without explicitly killing anyone. When she was part of the peacemakers, Isabelle was their top mage, using magic to apprehend or kill dangerous suspects or opposing forces of the mystics while most of her partners used firearms and other gadgets based on those of Earth, or at least the Bug Commando's take on Earth.

To prep Buman for his future role as a peacekeeper, Isabelle trains him in less-lethal weapons as well as lethal sidearms for when things get dicey and require peacemaker levels of force. His dream role would be a sniper shooting magic bullets that knock out the suspect without a scratch, all while retaining a good distance from the suspect.
