The Pegasus Express
This is the most autistic thing I've ever drawn (and I say that with love). I've never drawn a train in my life before this. I think I did a pretty good job. I intended to post this around the start of the new year but I forgor :')
I drew this on christmas day for my Changeling players, wanted to try my hand at something of a "holiday special" oneshot of sorts - my friends DM games of their own, and they like to do something special for holidays, so I wanted to give it a go for my own campaign. I'm not a huge christmas person, my feelings towards holidays in general have been pretty complicated, so I didn't want to make my references too on-the-nose. Long story short, it went wonderfully, and the campaign largely took place in this very train, meant to reference The Polar Express, one of the few christmas movies I actually enjoy.
Basically, the fae heard about the concept of luxury trains, and proceeded to make their own, albeit with a deeply flawed concept of how a train works. But that's what magic is for, baby! And you better believe they made sure the big metal pegasus on the smokebox tries to gallop and fly when the train starts to move, for no reason other than they could. The geometry on the inside makes zero sense - there is basically an entire hotel in one car alone, don't even get me started on the dining car or the vendors you can find in there. It's not uncommon for people to get on the train and never get off, though extended stays on the Pegasus Express are not recommended. Some say people who refuse to get off become new employees for the rest of their days, some say they get thrown off the back of the kaboose and sent tumbling into the thorns that line the train tracks, and some say they simply cease to be. Hard to say for sure. Best to get off at the next stop, just to be safe.
