The Miragias are a sapient race in Appalachia but they are not technically Dragons, they are closer to Kobolds which dragons tend to keep as pets, so it is often strange to Dragons how intelligent they actually are, especially when they start communicating. Some still believe they should be nothing more than an exotic pet, and others acknowledge their sapience but don't believe they should be treated the same as Dragons.

The Miragias tend to live in barren locations like tundra, open plains, and desserts, using the long claws on their toes and the claws on the ends of their wings to create burrows in the earth for shelter and protection. They sleep during the day and come out at night to hunt small creatures like Insects, Lizards, Amphibians, and small Mammals.

The Miragias have the magical ability of divination, they can foresee future cause and effect. The Future is never a 100% Guarantee but they can make very accurate predictions. In their home environment foresight helps them be successful hunters and avoid predators, but animals are easier to predict that other people. Dragons can create too many factors to keep track of or have too far reaching of an effect that a Miragias might predict that fighting back will lead to disaster, so many of their kind have been captured by Dragons to be used as little Prophets and use their divination abilities for their captors.
