The Tlakautani Dragons are one of the Original 8 species of Laramidia and Appalachia before the Tannin. At this point their race has all but disappeared during the war with the Tonatani. Most Presume they are Extinct but some believe that they are still out there hiding in the shadows or sent themselves to the world of spirits and will never return.
The Tlakautani are long, smooth, and slender with large wings and a tail that ends in a stinger that contains a unique and powerful toxin that won't kill you immediately but induces vivid nightmarish hallucinations and a overwhelming feeling of Dread like the victim knows that they are doomed already. Some creatures die form the shock and others will do whatever they can to make it end. The Tlakautani do not use this stinger recklessly and are taught young how to mind their stingers.
The Tlakautani's powers change generally based on the time of day. This can vary depending on the actual light level of the environment around them but is typically related to the length of their shadows which is considered as much a part of them as their physical body. At any time of day or night if they overlap with another shadow they can poses the shadow and animate it which can have real physical effects on the Shadow's source.
At night or complete Darkness they are indistinguishable from Shadows able to completely disappear and seamlessly fit through small gaps. Some believe these are their truest forms and when they become Shadows they are indistinguishable from Ghosts
At Dusk or Dawn when their shadow is at it's largest form they are able to project their shadow outwards to stretch parts of their body or turn their whole body into a Shadow Giant. As time progresses further into the day this ability becomes more limited as their shadow gets smaller
and At Noon they are their most tangible and are physically vulnerable but have enhanced physical strength as their Shadow mostly merges into their body.
