One of the two giant cobras guarding the pyramids. He's down to just two packs a day, but how he manages to hold a cigarette is beyond me. Besides spouting smoke from his nostrils, these serpents would open their mouths and stick out their tongues.
I shot these photos at the “Wild Lights” special event at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas. Asian lantern sculptures are scattered throughout the zoo. The theme for 2025 was "Journey Through a Magical Forest"
