As of late, I have been putting so much into rediscovering my creative identity. For me, this means deliberately ignoring what is popular, what might get me trending, and what would appeal to a wider audience. My art shouldn't necessarily be about looking nice, but about expressing myself and what is important to me.
Truthfully, I did not like drawing this. It did not turn out how I wanted and I had to know when to quit so that this drawing wouldn't be another meaningless obligation. When I made it I was getting out of artistic burnout and thinking way too big. A full-body illustration with an actual background was too ambitious for me at the time.
So, why even bother posting it? Social media encourages us to only share our best work. Beginner artists get discouraged and think other artists have it easy, that we can effortlessly pump out flawless, detailed drawings on the regular. We can't.
I am posting this to share that I am a dreamer, a flawed man, and an artist who is still learning.
