I wanted to come up with a creature with Chinese/Wuxia themes that I could use in something like D&D so came up with this fella!
He's a water spirit and he carries a huge gourd on his back which is full of endless liquor allowing him to be almost perpetually drunk. He's a master monk in the art of drunken fighting and uses his slow and drunk motions to deceive his opponents. His massive belly is his greatest weapon and while he can easily deflect blows with any part of his soft body, his sloshy belly allows him to store great amounts of liquid, and his belches can blow an opponent away even from a fair distance. Sea of Wine is inspired by both a white's tree frog and a catfish and he's able to move with grace despite his size and shape.
