More from Oregene
This has been in the works for soooo long, it feels great to finally have him done!
Here's my reference for Veristos, a more traditional, quadrupedal dragon version of Oregene. If Oregene is the modern, domestic version of myself then Veristos is the fantasy, 'otherworld' form. They are the same being from two different canon existences.
I've got a fair bit of lore for him that I'll work on over time however the short version is that he was a regular lizard that was exposed to a meteor from an alien planet that enhances beings desires and helps manifest them into reality. The base instinct to grow as a lizard allowed him to form into a dragon with sentience and intelligence over time, and as such he has the ability to change himself and his surroundings by willpower. It's not something he has complete control over though, it either requires immense concentration or circumstances to cause enough of an emotional response to will it into existence.
He has a dewlap on his neck that he can inflate as means of 'intimidation' (no one ever is) or as a show of excitement. Rather than having an organ that produces a flammable substance that can be combusted to breathe fire, his organ instead produces helium. If startled or in a relaxed state, he can produce excessive amounts that are released in chambers surrounding his elastic skin and scales causing his body to inflate like a balloon. This could be a byproduct of his instinctual desire to grow as a lizard, or perhaps he simply changed his anatomy at some point to incorporate this, as it serves no purpose other than him liking it.
His cannon world is a dense forest planet which I haven't named just yet, but my botanist dragon is also on this same planet. I do plan on making more interactions between them as well as bridge some of this lore with Oregene and other characters of mine.
And of course he's likely to end up big in various ways!
But thats it for now! If I think of adding anything more to his bio I shall, otherwise I'll just base it around new art and upload that instead.
