Liz grew up in the small rural community of White Forest, in the Unova region. Her first Pokémon partner was a Ryhorn she befriended by helping it calm down when it was distressed. The mayor had suggested she take Ryhorn with her, and so Liz began her Pokémon Journey.

In Castelia City, Liz was approached by a corporate worker and offered a job as a statistician. Liz had always been good at math and data analysis, so she decided to give it a shot. She started off in an unpaid internship program, and after completing her internship she was offered full employment and a salary. Liz was excited to land such a well-paying and fun career so young. She moved permanently to Castelia, though she does often work remotely.
