Zinc is from Azalea Town. They grew up playing in the Ilex Forest and down in the Slowpoke Well, always spending time around the wild Pokémon. Zinc loves to explore, especially deep dark places. Climbing, swimming, and playing hide and seek have always been favourite pastimes.

When Zinc received their first Pokémon from Professor Elm, they chose a Totodile. Zinc immediately wanted to go on a Pokémon Journey to take on the Gym Challenge. Though they never finished getting all 8 badges, Zinc was happy with his decision to strike out on their own with their Pokémon, because they got to explore more of Johto and even parts of Kanto.

During their Gym Challenge, Zinc had become fascinated with the Ruins of Alph. While exploring the ruins, and other caves in Johto, Zinc was fascinated to discover just how interconnected most of the cave systems of Johto were with each other. This resulted in Zinc pursuing a career in spelunking.
