The infamous musician known as Prince said this about our home state:

"I personally, love Minnesota. The cold keeps a lot of bad people away."

Taken the fateful morning ICE agents killed Renee Nicole Good in my home neighborhood of south Minneapolis, blocks away from her own home.

I avoided watching the video footage because it happened 7 minutes drive, 13 minutes bus ride, and 30 minutes walk from my old house I grew up in. I was ready to believe what I was hearing screamed from a few miles over because you cant take that area out of me. By the time I saw the footage and recognized the street and houses, I was already livid. Out of all the places you could fuck around in Minneapolis, South Minneapolis wants the LEAST to do with ICE for local citizens. The scene there has not, and NEVER will be for this type of political viewpoint for anti-immigration. Lethal force being justified for use on citizens obstructing deportation processes will ALWAYS be mocked and unaccepted.

She came here with her family, seeking a haven, found it, and was ready to defend it for her neighborhoods. She had no intent to use her vehicle as a deadly weapon with a wife and 3 kids on the line.

Everyone here is mad or sad as fck if they were born with a heart and managed to keep it. The rest? Cold as they come.

Minnesota nice exists because if the cold keeps the bad people out, the MN nice keeps the warm people warm in all seasons, not just winter.

A shame and tragedy we could not be neighbors longer, Ms. Good.
