Hilbert is the face of the team, but Cecelia does the work. In the quiet glow of her VR headset, she and Aceceli calculate the exact percentage of her erasure—and devise a plan to let the data speak for itself.
This was meant to be the first story of 2026, but became the broken sword I posted last week. I kept my word and had a blast writing this one up!
I never wrote a sci-fi before and wanted to try something unique. Most stories I knew of focused either on space ships or planets, or just some horror take on tech. I wanted to avoid both and try my had at another take, which needed inspiration that I'm thankful to say DegenTech provided! This video talking about electromagnetic sensors for VR inspired this writing and it was fun to try out! If you haven't heard of them before please check them out. With that, here's a belated National Sci-fi Day story and hope you enjoy!
