Human beings, we wear a mask of 'humanity' to escape from the notion that we are just capable animals -- believing instead we are this unique and blessed creature holding the only soul, and thus, whatever imagined rights/privileges that come with that illusion.

Of course, after that denial, it must be cosmically hilarious that we wear other actual animal masks, representing gods, spirits, inner spirits, and so on -- creating all kinds of dualities, ironies, and misconceptions.
