This was initially just supposed to be sketch to test the robot leg design again. (While also seeing how the socks from the last piece which I liked translate to Sass' design.) But it got abit carried away after the first folds for the pants and the rendering came out abysmal, even more so than these. They looked like wet clay. After spending too long trying other designs I fell back to doing simpler stuff like my other works which still remains painfully bad looking. Parts like the leg needed a quick emergency material pattern even if it didnt follow its geometry to get it to look less like wet clay. I do think there are some highlights to the design here atleast like the little darker bits in the diamond pattern and rubber padding lines on the foot.
But having gotten into the flow of doing all that I decided to fill in the sketch and complete it since the setup was cute despite some of the notable proportion problems. It was also a fun opportunity to slip in the enzyme implant for the first time since it'd actually be visible for once given the lack of shirt. . .
Between the cute sock, draping jacket (why cant I crack folds :sob:) and even more "relaxed" look and pose, this is probably the most ""indulgent"" piece of Sass yet, as was highlighted by a few friends even during the sketch lol. Let alone once it was more rendered :P (Although obviously it remains very tame.)
While the scale is questionable and something I should have caught earlier, the specific contrast between the heavy duty robotic leg, and the soft organic one is supposed to be a big focus of the piece. Ultimately I do think it is coming into its own as an interesting element I am still not fully certain whether or not to commit to the robot leg or not. Although I do think this piece acts as a bonus point towards it.
Shading was pretty last second but despite its weak quality I think it still added abit more than removing which is nice. Overall while riddled with issues the piece was bound to turn out pretty cute even with its skuffed elements I think.
