Elphaba is friends to the animals of Oz.
I thought it would be cute if I had been a student at Shiz University, one of the only talking animal students, and therefore a misfit like Elphaba, and we became friends. After she was declared as the Wicked Witch, I fled Shiz and hid in the forest from the flying monkeys. Elphaba returns and remembers me.... I'm one of the few animals remaining in Oz that doesn't believe everything you read in the papers and I refuse to leave. I stand by Elphaba. It's good to see you again, old friend....
