Charles McLaren is Marvin’s father. He is of Scots-Irish American descent, born in Simi Valley, California, and works as an electrician in Northridge.

Tara McLaren is Marvin’s mother. She is Cuban American, born and raised in Florida. She later moved to Northridge, California, where she married Charles.

James Nuttson is Tyson’s father. He grew up with a beatnik father and later became a hippie himself. In his household, James does not allow his son Tyson to watch television, raising him in a very hippie-oriented family environment.

Annie Nuttson is Tyson’s mother. She is very kind and enjoys playing the guitar.

Bernie Grizzwold is Leslie’s father. He previously had a job but was falsely accused of stealing his manager’s wallet and was fired. On the bright side, he later secured a new, better-paying job.

Dani Grizzwold is Leslie’s mother.

Chad Barrenwieber is Tina’s father. He is of German American descent and was born in South Dakota.

Grace Barrenwieber is Tina’s mother. She was also born in South Dakota. Chad and Grace later married and moved to Granada Hills, California.
