First of all, welcome back! I hope things are going well for you. :)
As for thumbnails, they have been broken for years. Which it is sort of a mixed blessing, I think -- it was a bit annoying seeing what looked like a good pic only to find a rather crappy image or some fetish that I would have never clicked on if known beforehand. Tags tend to help with the latter (if the poster tags correctly, which not everyone does.)
