One crummy French (or rather Hanna-Babara French) cartoon show was The Smurfs. Although unlamented, they weren't quite as bad as reputation has it. But there were clearly too few Smurfettes. Only one, in fact, until later seasons when HB began inventing new characters and changing Peyo's original stories out of recognition. Here's my take on Smurfette -- a little more Child of Nature, and less Spoiled Femme.

Gawd i remember watching this show on Cartoon Network when I was kid. Never saw this chick in it, but then i was probly to young (and to american) to even know about french smurfs.
Still, the show was pretty entertaining. (At least back then). Not sure how much so it would be now. I dont know why people would dislike it.

A live action Smurfs movie, huh? I guess you could do it with cgi to shrink adults, but I've had notions of using child actors. Maybe cgi would be better, though I'd almost be willing to pay a good money to see a 12 year old good looker in blue paint. (Was it politically incorrect to say that? Oh well.)
I have a two or three volumes of Peyo's original Smurfs translated into English. Unfortunately, I've had to keep an eye out for them used. New, they're too bloody expensive!

The Cuttiefull Adorable Smurfette! Mmmmmmhhhhhhhhhh! For The Memory Of Peyo! Did She Had Another Specications For Drawing Her? The Stories What I Heard About How Peyo Discover Them Are Not Precise, But At Least Their Descriptions Said He Seen Them But I Ignore If He Specifically Interact Or Speaks With Them...
"Peyo's" real name was Culliford. He invented the Smurgs (Les Schtroumpfs in the original French) in a story about a squire in Medieval times called Johann. The Smurfs lived in the woods near the castle, or something like that. (I've never read the original story.) The characters were popular and so Culliford began to write stories just about *them.*
Not much is known about Smurfs -- there may have been just 99 of them at first, and there were no girls. Smurfette was created by Gargamel, an evil wizard. She was made "good" by the Smurf leader, Papa Smurf. It wasn't until Hanna Barbera animated the story that other girls were added. Where smurfs came from is a mystery, so far as I know. And they may still exist in modern times, though they must have retreated into very deep woods indeed to have remained hidden from us.

This is why I have to remembering my childhood memories since Saturday Mornings was cool then.
Bad news is Saturday Mornings is pretty much done for life.
I really miss my shows when I was a kid in the 80's to 90's.
Everything's changing in this generation now. We got smartphones, computers and internet but entertainment
gone bittersweet for not having great ideas or even shows. Wish they could bring it back also reboots to bring our icons back.
We must supporting our childhood memories before it's really disappeared forever.
SATURDAY MORNINGS, WE WILL PREVAIL! Great job, btw.
