If you're lucky, you probably don't remember a French made cartoon show about little tiny people living on an isolated island in perfect ecological harmony. It was called The Smoggies, after the big people moored in the lagoon. The Suntots were rather annoying. All they had to do was slap some bamboo and shells together and they could invent solar powered paddle boats, or heat their bath water with a mirror angled to catch the sun. That sort of thing never works for us, in reality. The boat would only go 1/4 mph, and stop dead in the water if anyone was in it. And you'd be a weak warming up the bath because the sun wouldn't come out. But for the Suntots everything always worked, like magic. The Smoggies on the other hand, were just representatives of big stupid us. They were greedy and dirty and wasted everything. Not that I ever noticed a Suntot telling a Smoggie how any of their magic technology worked. In fact, the plots were often driven by the need of the Suntots to hide a certain piece of technology the Smoggies wanted. (Whether or not it was only in the Smoggies imaginatin was never clear.)

Anyhow... irritating though the show was, I kinda got into the idea of this ideal community of people who ran around in skimpies all the time. Not that there was more than one cutey -- Princess Leela or something. (All the other female Suntots were rather motherly.) So I invented my own Suntot cutey.
