Grimm rustled in his pocket until he felt it; he had been hiding it all day saving it for the right moment-
His arm casually raised over her head as he let the mistletoe tap her forehead.
“Where did you even-” Whisper started, then paused when she realized how close he was. Too close. Close enough that the cold didn't seem to matter anymore.
Her ears flicked back in shock, as her face turned a bright red, almost forgetting how cold it was outside by how warm she suddenly felt.
“No. Absolutely not,” she blurted out. Her hands coming up as if she could...and would physically push the moment away.
“Don’t you dare. That is not—you’re not—Grimm.”
He said nothing at first. Just watched her with that familiar, unreadable look—half amused, half far too observant. The mistletoe swayed slightly as Whisper shifted, clearly unsure where to look or what to do with her hands.
“I mean it,” she added quickly, words tumbling over each other, “We are just...NO.”
Finally, Grimm hummed, lowering his arm.
“…huh.”
She blinked. “Huh?”
Grimm stepped back, the mistletoe disappearing back into his coat pocket as if it had never existed at all. A small, almost lazy smile tugged at his mouth.
“Relax,” he said in a nonchalant tone, “I wasn’t going to kiss you.”
The silence that follows is…loud.
“Oh,” Whisper said, a little too fast.
Relief rushed through her so hard, it was almost embarrassing. “Good. Right. Obviously. That would have been...yeah.”
Grimm watched her for a moment longer than necessary, eyes softening just slightly before he looked away. Whatever flickered across his expression did not stay long enough to be questioned.
“Come on,” he said instead, already turning toward his house. “Dinner is ready. And if I don’t feed you now, you will get hangry and threaten to bite me...again.”
She scoffed, following after him. “That’s not true.”
“It absolutely is.”
They walked inside together, the night closing behind them, the moment neatly tucked away where neither of them will mention it again.
Whisper ate, relaxed again, convinced she imagined the tension in the first place.
And Grimm...well...
He doesn’t bring it up.
But the mistletoe stayed in his pocket a little longer than necessary.
Whisper and Grimm have the most...convoluted relationship/friendship I have even seen-
And yes, I enjoy it more than I should, lol.
Last holiday upload: a birthday and christmas gift for my dear friend, Grimm. Also shoutout to him for allowing me to bully, err, let Whisper tease his character without him complaining too much. Happy holidays!

I am just enchanted. This really is special. This is why I like art more than any physical gift you could get me, there's feeling and meaning behind it that you put tike, thought, and effort into that goes beyond just ordering something online, furthermore , this is one of those times I actually appreciate the description more than the art itself, not because the art is bad, the exact opposite, but because the description/story It's so heartfelt and meaningful. You really made this one hit hard. I am truly thankful. Genuinely.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
