Nahida stood on the balcony, champagne in hand. It was a clear and starry night as the year drew to an end, but she was in a place she had never been to before. A foreign nation had requested her visit to their country for discussions and celebrations of the new year and, though she normally ignored these requests, she had decided to accept due to Exten and Cleo's nagging for her to see more of the world. The talks were long and arduous, and though she had been enjoying the party, she stuck out like a sore thumb. There were many that tried to court her there, though she could see through the ambitions they tried to stow away and politely yet firmly declined their advances. There was one, however, that did not seek such courtship with her. A male red panda, with a light of innocence his eyes, named Chorus who seemed only there to meet new people and friends. Apparently, he was an intern of some rich business woman that was supposedly here, but Nahida never saw her around. Chorus had spoken with Nahida, trying to use the small amount of Sulakawaan language that he had learned, to see how she felt about the party and the people she had met here. She had responded that the area and people were interesting, but not in any good nor bad way. Just... different from what she was used to. As she thought this, a loud BOOM echoed through the night sky as fireworks began to go off. These were also new to her, a show of fire that seemed to mimic the brightness of the stars beyond them. The door behind her opened as Chorus entered onto the balcony. Nahida turned gracefully towards him, and smiled as it was one of the few people here she enjoyed the company of. Silently, Chorus joined her, and the two looked over the railing in awe of the shimmering patterns and echoing sounds that filled this new years night.
