Q: How do we make a fresh new 2026 feel fresh and new?
A: A fresh new monthly schedule of our game streaming show, Scratchpad! We are all set for January, ready to present to you another exciting month (and year) of live episodes of Scratchpad on our Twitch channel!
On New Year’s Day, we’ll be catching ‘em all with Pokemon Blue. As soon as 2026 arrives, it’ll be catching us playing this late 90’s classic, working our way towards earning the Thunder and Marsh Badges. And with a fresh new 2026 out of the oven, Pokemon’s about to celebrate its 30-year milestone! How’s that for a celebration of 2026’s arrival?
*On Sunday, January 4th, we’ll be playing a game to honor the memory of the late Bob Nelson (a.k.a. “Anthrocoon”) with Frogger, but with raccoons. This game is called Varmintz. It’ll be a bittersweet episode, but we’ll take great pride in honoring his memory with a game featuring his favorite animal.
As promised, we’ll be finishing up an overdue Spyro 2 playthrough. That, along with PBA Pro Bowling 2026, will be streaming live on Thursday, January 8th. (I wanted to livestream another candlepin bowling session on Twitch because…well…Candlepins!)
Both the Genesis/Mega Drive and Game Gear ports of Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine take over Tuesday the 13th. (This is Puyo Puyo, but with AoSTH characters, BTW…)
Due to the awesomeness within this game, playing it on the day of the game’s launch last March, Nuclear Cheetah returns to Scratchpad for the 2025-2026 season on Wednesday the 21st!
Rollerblading around the city, spraypainting public property with our graffiti, and playing some hella sweet music? We’re so there! Friday afternoon on January 23rd is Jet Grind Radio.
From Tuesday, January 27th through Thursday, January 29th, we put the spotlight on the self-proclaimed Ultimate Lifeform, Shadow the Hedgehog, in Sonic X Shadow Generations. Each episode will open up with a different game before diving into SXSG, however, but the spotlight shines on Shadow. Sonic Racing Crossworlds opens on the 27th, Sonic Rumble on the 28th, and with a different kind of “Chaos Control”, there’s Columns on the 29th. (Finding that damn 4th Chaos Emerald not guaranteed.)
