Background :

Born thanks to a powerful magical ritual allowing 2 magical auras and DNAs to mix, then be insiminated in one of the parent (dangerous but only way for lesbian couple to procreate), Volkyn hatched in an egg despite one half of his DNA coming from a wolfess. Half dragon, half wolf, Volkyn took different aspects of both her mothers' species, making him unique even amongst the other rare hybrids. Thanks to Nilla's strong experience with magic and Phiri's increased strenght, Volkyn was gifted with increased strength and innate control over lighning and general magic. Due to the process used to birth him, Volkyn inherited from Phiri's golden fur patterns but mixed with Nilla's magical powers turning some of it blue, as the patterns are filled with magic and changing color depending on the mood and uses.

Despite being the son of the Dragon lands' Queen and Beast lands' army General, Volkyn's childhood wasn't as easy as expected due to his hybrid nature. Both dragons and wolves being proud and territorial species, even considering that anyone would fall in love with someone of a different species was not appreciated and considered; even less if a baby would be born from such union. Always having to defend himself and explain his nature, Volkyn always had to prove that he was more than just a "mistake" or "son-of" by other kids and citizens still not accepting how such influential role models dared to want a child together.
No matter, Volkyn was always supported by his family, his siblings and anyone not stuck in old traditions. Thanks to a good eductation (despite having inherited part of Phiri's short patience for debates and conflict resolution), he was able to learn that wealth, ranks or influence over others wasn't something to judge others on, but be impartial and fair (despite Phiri's clear lack on this aspect).

During the war between the Human and Dark elves lands against the Dragon and Beast's lands, Volkyn was still a cub; too young to fully understand what was happening in both of his homelands. Kept far from the horrors of the war, and having less time to pass with his family (being busy with battles and offiicial meetings), he decided that he'd never want to see such horrific and destructive events happen again in his homelands.
Being kind and playful by nature, Volkyn isn't always fair and calm. Because of Phiri's tendencies to prefer fighting and being ruthless over debating or letting things go over, he knows that a part of him needs to be controlled unless it would be needed to release the inner beast and become ruthless with anyone upsetting him.

Over the years, Volkyn grew up as a respected citizen of both Dragon and Beasts lands, swearing to defend his lands if it was needed even if he knew that some citizens wouldn't support him due to his origins and his living conditions unfair from the very beggining.
