A retouching of a commission I had done either this year or last year, I can't remember. The painting on the left is based on the Supper at Emmaus by Van Meegeren, who passed it off as a Vermeer. There's something satisfying about how he was able to play the art critics and historians zeroing in on the parts they noticed, as well as making a Vermeer that doesn't look like a Vermeer.
There's also a miniature Doric pillar with oranges on top.
It's a dandy trying to show off his wealth to you, though in the vein of New Money. Like someone who wears fake Gucci and gold tinted watches and has flashy clothes made of polyester.
