On the continent of Sal, there are two kingdoms at war.
The Northscar Kingdoms to the east is set up in the forested mountains. Their kingdom is ruled by a royal family, with their king having a council of three - each a representation of the citizen's classes. The Kingdom's main export is lumber. Their symbol, the Deer, is known to roam the mountains. Only the royal family has permission to hunt the deer openly - if anyone else does so, they're given a public lashing.
The Blackgrasp Kingdom to the west is set up in the wetlands. Their kingdom is ruled by a council of chiefs, with one chief appointed by the other chiefs as the 'Chief of Chiefs', which is a position held for 7 years before a re-election is done. This kingdom's main export is fish. Their symbol, the Wolf, is the mount of choice for the people. Wolves are hunting companions, beasts of burden, pets, ect. When dead, they're skinned & their pelts are worn in their honor, with some families passing down furs through the generations.
