Part 14: The Ritual
Fourteenth illustration in the "Journey Series".
"And so I began the ritual. I had long since mastered the art of sorcery, so I conjured up the fabric of my fears and dreams, my hopes and wishes, and made them manifest. I had studied alchemy during my travels, so I wove the shapeless matter into form. And I had seen enough of the gods to understand how to create life, so I added a spark into the beautiful, promising husk I had made – and as I had been promised, it took, and I was now no lesser than the gods themselves. The creature I had made was formless yet, but white as snow, and that’s what I named him: Snow."
