This is my irl beloved border collie, Zinya! (Zin-Yuh)
She's incredibly smart, super funny, and full of energy. Im slowly working on training her neat tricks.
(which, I should start journaling that here on FA!!! i havent made much progress with her because i have trouble keeping up with things, but documenting it wil for sure help.)
she LOVES playing with balls of all sizes and im planning on getting her a horse ball. she'll love that. She used to play with those big bouncy balls from Walmart but she got to a point where she would hit them so hard with her mouth open they'd pop from her teeth X3 she won't be able to do that with a horse ball!
she's not crazy about dog treats like most dogs, but she'd probably kill someone for raw rabbit meat. it's probably her favorite food.
I wish I knew when her birthday was, but the lady who surrendered her to me just would not tell me, despite her personally knowing the breeder! it's really odd that I kept asking for thr breeders imformation and she kept dodging it. It makes me suspicious that she came from a puppymill or something terrible like that. All I know is she was 6-12 months old whenever I met her. so I just like to imagine she was about 9 months old, landing her birthday around spring.
but anyway.
I love her !!!!!!

It was December 29th, 2024 when I met her for the very first time. I was hours away from home, headed back from a small trip, when I spotted a roadkilled dog. Whenever this happens, I like to stop and go around the neighborhood or surrounding houses to make sure it's no bodys beloved dog.
I walked up to a large property with a small trailer and a couple of sheds. In the middle of the yard stood a beautiful border collie, which I instantly had to take a picture of. 2 more dogs came running out barking, a blue heeler mix and a jack russel terrier, and then followed an older woman.
I told her about the deceased dog and she confirmed it was a stray and sadly had been there a few days. She said that all of her dogs are right here, gesturing to the 3 walking around and wagging their tails curiously. I pointed out her border collie and complimented it, saying how it stood out and it was such a stunning dog.
The woman looked up at me, and almost completely without hesitation said "That's Jasmine. do ya want her? she keeps chasing my chickens, and I just can't have that."
I was a little speechless, naturally. I already had a dog at home and I wasn't at all planning to get another one anytime soon. In fact, I was planning on my second dog to be a borzoi.
I went all the way home and thought hard about it. I thought it would be a terrible idea, but there was something about her. Something different. I cant explain the feeling, but its a strong unmistakable feeling. Like it was meant to be.
I slept on it and the very next day, I went to the pet store to get a collar, harness and leash and made my way all the way back up there. It was about a 3 hour drive.
I was only able to guess her collar size, but it ended up fitting perfectly. I loaded her unto the car and drove home. She was scared, and actually tried to run away whenever we got back home and I let her out of the car.
After that, I fondly renamed her to Zinya, and we bonded quickly. She shows so much love towards me and shes incredibly intentive. I am so unbelievable happy she's a part of my life. I think she's my soul dog and I hope she lives for years and years and years to come.
