OH GOD, LORE

a family tree i whipped up for kara and zakari, my two main ocs.

starting from left to right:

carol snowberry - kara's stepmother, which her father marries when kara is around eighteen. kara has very weird feelings about her father remarrying and does not view carol as a mother figure. in fact, she dislikes her. carol is well-meaning, undisputably kind, and has given kara no reason to dislike her, which pisses kara off. she'd prefer the woman to have some negative qualities so she has an excuse to hate her, but carol is just so damn NICE. sucks.
dakota thompson - kara's dad. a nature/wilderness survivalist and genuinely nice guy. he owns their small alaskan town's general store, which was kara's first ever job before she moved away. during his free time, he enjoys going camping, fishing, and boating.
ocean thompson - kara's deceased mother. she unfortunately passed away when kara was about ten years old. ocean struggled with depression all of her life, and despite the constant stream of medication she seemed to be on, it proved to be too much for her, and she sadly took her own life. kara blames herself for this. if she had been a better daughter, maybe her mother would have loved her enough to stay.
kara thompson - the titular bitchular, the main cunt, the bpd baddie. she moved away from her family when she turned eighteen, around the same exact time her dad remarried. she said it was to pursue university in a better state, but truthfully she couldn't stomach watching her father fawn over a new woman. kara has never been great at controlling her emotions or talking about her feelings.
kazuo sato - zakari's father, an extremely successful businessman. he's the CEO of a huge parent company that owns several other properties. he's cold-hearted, strict, and straight to the point. zakari never received any affection from this man. all he ever received was trauma and the scar on his face. currently rotting in prison for reasons relating to his wife's death.
yumi sato - zakari's beloved mother. he isn't sure why, but the main thing he can remember about her is that she seemed scared all the time. she was quiet, demure, and kept mostly to herself, but she adored her son. they had a very close bond before her life was taken from her.
zakari sato - the emo boy himself! he has a sarcastic streak, a criminal record, and a mysterious past, but is genuinely a nice guy once you get to know him. he is kara's nemesis and also main love interest. funny how that works!
yuki tsukino - zakari's aunt, who becomes his sole guardian after his mother passes away and his father is locked in prison. she's a successful divorce lawyer. while she was happy to take zakari in, she really struggled to connect with him, and wasn't certain how to handle raising a traumatized teenager. but she managed to get him into therapy at least!
celeste tsukino - zakari's younger cousin. she views him like a brother and enjoys his company, but does find his gruff exterior a little hard to swallow. she enjoys all kinds of sports.
aiden sato-thompson - kara and zakari's eventual oopsie baby they have when they're in their late 20s/early 30s. he's a goofy lil kid. his parents try their best to raise him, but they aren't perfect. aiden still loves them though, even if he does feel a little disconnected from them.
