Well. It's the prehistoric age. They're not that smart yet! But if you think about Clark Kent and Superman, it is the same thing. Nobody recognize Superman because of a pair of glasses? :)

There was at least one story implying that there was an interaction with the Kryptonian crystal (because anything else would get destroyed eventually) used in Clark's glasses that basically did a form of subtle hypnosis on anyone seeing him.
