so so so hard to find people skilled in fabric these days, it's a lost art.

I think people tend to get intimidated and often don't even give it a shot because they assume they won't be able to do it. It honestly surprises me how many people I meet that don't know how to sew! I learned it when I was a kid, it just feels like something everyone should be taught, honestly.
It was nice to get back to foam and fabric for this guy, though! It's been a while. I really don't do fabric work as often as i should... its just that i prefer to hand sew usually and hand sewing absolutely kills my wrists

for me it's the machines. leave a sewing machine in a storage shed for a year and it will never work right again haha. my dad could sew pretty well. i took a class on it from a family friend and made a blanket, forgot how to do it though, that had to be 12 years ago.
