Here is simple pair of tongs I made a little while back after I had broke my camera. I couldn't take any pictures that were decent quality so now I am.
These were made of one piece of flat stock and were forged from there. This tong features a spring in the back which joins the halves together as well as allows it to open up on it's own. This sort of pair of tongs is probably closer to what a non-blacksmith would think of when they hear the word "Tongs".
I made this pair on a whim just for the fun of it, but I will probably use them for grabbing things out of regular fires, not's really good for blacksmith work.
