More prismacolor attempting. Although I think this turned out better than the horse. Also, fur attempting.
I had quite some trouble with the background. First it was blank, and I was happy with that, but I felt like trying something in the background. So then I used golden copic and alchohol splotches, and it was too much. I then painted over the background with translucent white acrylic to lighten it, but it didn't really help. So I painted over the background with solid acrylic, and put this new crackle paint I got on the white background, and it somehow dissolved through the acrylic to reveal some of the golden copic underneath. I didn't expect that, but I kinda like it. Of course all this wrinkled the paper horrible, but a day under my huge Art History AP textbook and presto! It's flat again. Kinda.
Here's a closeup of the crackle effect of the paint: http://zulayawolf.deviantart.com/ar.....fect-253642467
And a background comparison: http://zulayawolf.deviantart.com/ar.....ison-253642571
Prismacolors, copics, micron, white gellyroll pen, distress crackle paint, white acrylic on 9inch x 11inch bristol.
