Yeah I kinda got that last week myself from my mom. She always told me I should be honest with my parents about my feelings. So I told her how some really bad anxiety was putting really dark thoughts in my head.
So she kinda angrily told me if I ever said that again she'd put me in a mental hospital, bringing up her abusive mother to make the point that she'd been through that before, making me feel like she thought I was making it up. Great way to make me feel believed and safe :)
