• Biography: Hinoka is one of the many ½ Mermaids born to Junichiro & Palutena, being born a day before Marea was born, making her part of the 2nd line of ½ Mermaids born into the family. Hinoka is one of the handful of ½ Mermaids who surpass her mother Palutena in terms of bust size, being a K-Cup, but being 1 inch bustier than her mother. Hinoka grew up with the dream of wanting to be a hero like her father is. Though at the same time, she wished to be a healer of the sick as well. She was at a crossroads between choosing either the path of a knight, or the path of an apothecary. Ultimately, Hinoka decided to just combine the two. However, before she thought about studying medicine, Hinoka first focused on learning how to fight. Hinoka learned how to fight primarily with axes & bows but also learned how to fight with swords & spears as well. It did not take Hinoka long to be proficient in fighting and she soon turned her attention to the study of medicine making. Hinoka proved to have a knack in making medicines using different fruits & vegetables like apples, carrots, bananas, and even mushrooms to name a few. Satisfied with the spread she can make, she set her sights on traveling Hyrule to defend its peace and provide for the sick & weak that may be present there, and she is just as ready to provide for her home of Olympus when necessary. As is to be expected from those in Juni’s family, Hinoka is a very friendly woman who inherits only the best traits from her parents. Hinoka is unfailingly sweet & selfless, though in the latter case, she seems to be more so than a good number of her other sisters. Although, she does tend to be pushy at times. Like so many of her sisters, Hinoka has a soft spot for animals and does not take too kindly to poachers. However, her bigger frustrations are often targeted at any doctors that turn out to be quacks, especially those who take advantage of people’s lack of medical knowledge. Like a handful of her sisters, Hinoka is a proven absolute mudlark, and she will not hesitate to throw herself into a quicksand pit the moment she spots one. She also gets excited when signs of quicksand are discovered in the area she is exploring. In fact, Hinoka is more than willing to jump into clay just so she can get her hands on its medical properties. Crafts the sweetest, fruitiest medicines.
• Abilities: Being ½ Mermaid, Hinoka is capable of transforming into her mermaid form the moment she enters the water. As a mermaid, like all her other ½ mermaid siblings, she has excellent swimming speed, can breathe underwater without the need to surface for air; though she & her other sisters form gills to help with this, too, and she can commune with aquatic creatures of any kind. However, she primarily transforms while in fresh, or seawater. And like her mother & siblings, Hinoka strongly prefers the water to be clean before she thinks about transforming. As her occupation title implies, Hinoka walks the path of both a dutiful knight, and an Apothecary. Essentially making her a Knightly Apothecary. In way, this makes Hinoka a Pseudo Paladin, meaning she has the physical fighting tanking prowess of a knightess, but lacks the healing powers of the holy light. Though Hinoka’s talent for preparing medicine to heal others makes up for it. In fact, Hinoka’s ability to make medicine is so well refined, it typically does not take her long to have some ready. To concoct medicines, Hinoka primarily uses items such as fruits like apples, grapes, and even bananas, Vegetables like carrots & radishes, and even mushrooms. Flowers are known to be used as well. Though Hinoka also carries different types of meat, fish, and an assortment of ingredients, they are not used in her medicine making. However, she’s a fantastic cook nonetheless and she is usually the one to do the cooking, though her sisters Nawfar & Camilla also do good in this department, too. Nevertheless, Hinoka favors one-handed weapons, but has skill in using spears and axes. Claymores are something that Hinoka struggles with. Magic wise, Hinoka is not well versed with magical power, but she can defend herself with ice magic at least. She begins with the following gear & magics.
o Apothecary Uniform: Hinoka’s primary uniform when adventuring. Its red color scheme indicates she means business in wanting to heal the sick. It provides some decent defense, but Hinoka wears some chainmail underneath, along with pauldrons, gauntlets, and greaves for extra protection in battle.
o Hazel: Hinoka’s personal horse. This majestic white horse is graceful & utterly fearless and will not shy away from kicking monsters in the chin.
o Medicinal Bag: Hinoka’s personal bag that contains all of her medical equipment. This holds an infinite amount of materials that Hinoka uses to form her medicine, and it holds a great deal of empty bottles to keep them in as well. The medicines made by Hinoka have a wide variety of effects, but they will always restore health to some degree. Sometimes she’ll make smoothies, too, if the right ingredients are used.
o Silver Ono: A battle axe that serves as Hinoka’s primary weapon. This axe is strong enough to break spears in half, but it seems to struggle against swords.
o Broad Flamberge: A flame-bladed sword that serves as a faster alternative if the Ono is not assisting Hinoka well in a certain situation. It’s good at catching overhead strikes.
o Pegasus Yumi: A long bow that acts as Hinoka’s main ranged weapon. This yumi allows arrows fired from it to fly further than with other bows.
o Hylian Shield: Hinoka’s primary shield. A shield passed down through the Hyrulean royal family, along with the legend of the hero who wielded it. Its defensive capabilities and durability outshine all other shields. It protects against the elements, and curses. This shield is blessed to never break.
o Double Axe: This double-sided axe was designed with fighting in mind. It's a bit unwieldy, so it requires a well-practiced technique to use efficiently. This one’s well maintained, so it won’t break.
o Soldier’s Broadsword: A sword brandished by soldiers who once protected Hyrule Castle. Its durable blade is well tuned for slaying monsters. This one’s well maintained, so it won’t break.
o Soldier’s Spear: A spear once used by the guards of Hyrule Castle. Easy to use but difficult to master. The iron tip is very sturdy, and the shaft will not burn when exposed to flame. This one’s well maintained, so it won’t break.
o Soldier’s Bow: A bow designed for armed conflict. Inflicts more damage than a civilian bow, but it will still burn if it touches fire. Though this doesn’t break in a fight, preventing it from burning is not easy.
o Soldier’s Shield: A shield once used by guards of Hyrule Castle. It's easy to handle, but its core is made of wood, so it can catch fire. As a result, maintenance is a real burden.
o Knight’s Broadsword: Knights of Hyrule once carried this sword. These days it's the weapon of choice for seasoned adventurers thanks to its ease of use and high attack power.
o Knight’s Halberd: A spear used by knights adept in mounted combat. The spearhead is modeled after an axe.
o Knight’s Bow: The sturdy metal construction of this bow offers superior durability, while its lack of firing quirks makes it quite reliable. Once favored by the knights at Hyrule Castle.
o Knight’s Shield: A shield favored by the knights who served the Hyrulean royal family. Its sturdy metal construction makes it quite durable, but its weight requires decent skill to wield.
o Cryomancy: The power of ice magic. This is Hinoka’s only means of magic offense, and she knows plenty of ice spells with Ice Beam & Ice Rock being common favorites.
o Ice Rod: This magic wand launches a sub-zero blast of air which will quickly freeze most enemies. Weaker enemies will be destroyed by this weapon, and even stronger enemies might become solid blocks of ice. Great for magic—not so great for melee. Hinoka uses her own magic power to fuel the rod.
o Blizzard Rod: A magical rod that can cast extreme cold in a wide range. These are crafted from refined ice found at the summit of Hebra Peak. Though these break when depleted, Hinoka uses her own magic to fuel this rod’s longevity.
o Frostblade: A magical sword forged in the frigid mountains of the Hebra region. When the blade glows blue, enemies struck by it will become frozen.
o Frostspear: A magical spear forged from ancient ice taken from the Hebra Mountains. Attacking when the blade glows blue chills the air and freezes foe.
