A commission from studlysnargle (not sure which platforms they’re on exactly). Some festivals in Ancient Egypt were important religious affairs, featuring somber rituals and instructive performances. Others were big celebrations where the country’s inhabitants would feast and party. Often, their plans included public revelry, drunkenness, or sex — a joyous time for all. These other types of festivals were no less important religiously!
This piece shows Rhubis during this second type of festival. As a priest, he certainly has great cause to celebrate! He plays the aulos, a traditional Egyptian instrument consisting of two reeded pipes, and dances in glee as he praises his Lord Anubis.I’m sure there won’t be any transformative/homosexualizing effects on any humans who stop to listen to the suspiciously pride-colored musical waves the aulos emit >;3
In the background are many festival-goers, all cheering and egging Rhubis on. Snargle was kind enough to slip Arben in as a cameo here :3
