I absolutely *love* my deer 'sona, but I also have the hardest time drawing her.
(I think for her reference, I'll pile together this with my favorite drawings of her by others. I've seen so many variations of her that I just LOVE.)
Loving the right side, but that leg (and shoulder) on the left is driving me crazy.
Also, I've started slimming her down to make her more deer-like. I'm liking it so far... but I think her legs might need a bit more work in that respect. I want her to look long and elegant, but still have a little bulk in the hips. and belly.
Suggestions/redlines/critique welcome! :)

I too, have had a similar conceptual problem with my 'sona. I don't think it makes sense anatomically to make a bipedal anthro creature have as thin of legs as its quadrupedal counterpart.
So yeah, what I tend to visualize is like a thinish (for human standards) leg with a somewhat bulky hoof-foot.
SabretoothedErmine captured this design quite well this shaded sketch of my impala character Mela: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4176984

What a sweet question. Thank you for the sentiment!
I practice every single day, even if it's just a little sketch and even if I don't feel like drawing. It helps to keep the mind and hands active!
(Also, I always try to use references... I like to think they help me understand the form better and correct placement.)

Do you draw form observation when you practice or do you do your character drawings? How big do you draw? I use a 4x6 sketch geeks because I can scratch a quick drawing down anome back to it later go over the drawing in pen or make a more detailed drawing based off if the rough concept.
I do both; when I'm at school, especially, I take all the opportunities I can to draw models and take extra figure drawing classes. When I'm at home, I'll draw from reference photos - either stock I see online, or photos of myself.
For most sketches I use my bound 8x10 (or so) sketchbook, or loose-leaf from Bristol pads. Either I'll do multiple sketches on the page (mainly in my personal sketchbook) or I'll use the whole page for one drawing, which is usually what I do for trades and commissions on here. :)
