i have to say this alternate version looks much better than the one where his feet and claws are all the same colour, it gives a nice visual separation on where the plush toes end and the claws begin. much better for targeting any treatments to try and "help" his anger management

for something this good, it'd be worth waiting for longer.
and they were in scraps? i never notice that to be honest, i see good art and immediately favourite it. i usually put alternate versions of things i make in scraps so they won't clutter the main gallery, but i'd argue these alts are good enough to where it's easily the better option to keep them in the main gallery as you have. besides it's just a three page small comic of indulgence, if there were many more alternate versions and pages then it'd be worth separating them, not in this case, these should definitely stay in the main gallery

of course, a character that good looking rendered as good as you have deserves all the praise it gets. as for suggestions; i don't really know, i've always found countershade soles often looking good on basically anything. but if you mean characters, i can always suggest digimon as it has some great characters, most if not all of them being big and barefoot; wargreymon, blackwargreymon, growlmon, exveemon, zudomon, gaioumon (that one is incredibly undersused despite looking gorgeous). just a few of my favourites off the top of my head
