On the wings of the Albatross
Catching up with some old sketches again. This one is from "The Rescuers on the run". After the big tragedy of the story, our heroes have to journey afar to rescue fellow rescuers. But, it seems their adversary was one step ahead of them and trashed the hangar belonging to Albatross Air. All equipment (sardine cans, radios, toy cars) was either destroyed or confiscated, Orville and Wilbur were forced into hiding. Our trio still needed their help. As a makeshift solution, the Albatross brothers used their scarves to hold the little mice in place during the flight. Here, we see Clary and Tristan are huddled together under Orville's scarf while Dimitri watches on from Wilbur's back, against the night's sky.
This scene was fun to write. Not only did I think it further illustrated the troubles and struggles an organization like the R.A.S might go through after being directly attacked but, I thought it would further develop the little relationship woes between Dimitri and Clary. I also thought it would be a good chance to write the Albatross brothers in action together, even if it was brief.
