The XF-108 was the Mach 3-capable “little sister” of the XB-70. The Rapier would have intercepted supersonic Russian aircraft and escorted the Valkyrie, being the only fighter able to keep up with her. Unfortunately, the project was cancelled in 1959 due to expenses before a working prototype could be built. Not the case in the Sneg Aeroverse, however! Major Astra Keys’ drive and performance are second to none, and she dutifully protected the Arctic skies from Elmendorf AFB from 1964 to her retirement in 1996.
So this is my last piece of this year. I have a big project planned and it will likely take a little while, but I think (hope!) you guys are gonna like it. 2025 has been an interesting year, lots of unexpected changes and ups and downs. But I feel like I accomplished quite a bit, not only here but in my personal life.
