I think mermaids are quite pretty, so why not combine them with my favorite animals. I am going to call this race Aquakat. The first one I have drawn here is a cougar. Inspired by The Little Mermaid, she is interested in something dropped from the land dwellers. I will probably do an amur leopard or snow leopard one next, after I get my two commissions done and my first comic page done

The watercolors in this worked out quite nicely I think. I was having doubts at first. You can check out my Tumblr blog to see the original watercolor base with now colored pencil or acrylic detail. I am getting a little better with this technique with practice. I hope to get better still
