A scholar from the collapsing kingdom of West Galria seeks refuge in the Orcish Khanate of Espeni. There he seeks employment among the other scholars and researchers, but his agenda is hardly as pure as it seems. For he is actually a spy sent to the Khanate by the Morundine Nightfolk who are holding his sister hostage. When the ruse is revealed to the Orcs, the scholar is given a choice between death, exile or indentured servitude. For obvious reasons, the scholar chooses the third option.
One year later, a new Orcish apprentice starts working in the Espeni archives to pay off her debt. Young and vivacious if a bit clumsy, she is a quick study-- especially of Galrian history and language--and soon beloved by all her mentors. As to the whereabouts of the girl's presumably still Human sister, one could only guess...

My random guess just because I was going to ask the same thing.
Unrelated previous accident as first page shows use of a cane, transformation sadly does not equal healing in this case.
Love the fish/wave theme though, makes me think it's enchanted and could go onto or under water.

Well done there.
*mental images drift about*
Adorable pair of wood and glass goggles possibly with a crab theme, fetching swim suit, chair gets rolled gently into the water which starts bubbling and frothing while the two fish hand rests rise upwards to act like joysticks and then woosh! She's off to the races!

In Part 1, Officer Hú mentions that she caught an infection early in her life that made her lame in one or both of her legs. Magic in the Seventh Realm can probably cure that stuff, but I wanted to give disabled folks a bit of representation because I haven't done that in a few years now <3
Something that is worth knowing about disabled people is that some of them may be wheelchair-bound but they can still walk, it's just very painful and/or difficult. My take is that the orcs were more keen on getting her a wheelchair to ease the pain, unlike the humans of her homeland.
