Looks like the "Big bad bear" (professor death) has two of his students that failed class, Edgar (crow) and Allan (fox) . Who the two after a collage party went all out wild, got intoxicated and had a little "accident" that cost their own lives. But they think without their bodies, think they can escape death and party forever. However, once the bear found them, he will gladly give them "eternal life". By letting them be his bear fat or all eternity. While being held back, under layers of burr blubber. And lets say what remains of Edgar and Allan like in the poem...was never more!
