Re-read A Wrinkle in Time recently. While this time around I was put off by the pseudo-science and mysticism, Proginoskes is still the coolest thing ever. Another night, when I dont have things that I should be doing, I'm going to make a properly painted concept piece before hollywood gets there first...not because I'm stingy but because I really want to see CG Progo the way _I_ see him and not that ball of feathers featured on the cover hnnnnnggggggg
Formally a trans-dimensional traveler, people high up decided that Pan the Seraph had too much freedom and poisoned him to keep him in check. Pan can still shapeshift with some difficulty and cannot stay in single material form for long. When his abilities exhaust he lives in an empty Ed Hardy lighter.
Like a genie.
I couldn't sleep.

I love seraphs. Haven't read A Wrinkle in Time before, but the description of angels in the Bible is, interestingly enough, frighteningly like this. The seraphim actually have six wings and need all of them to cover their body, lest they blind/incinerate whoever is unlucky enough to bump into one. Then there are the thrones, which are described in the Bible as "wheels within wheels," the rims of which are covered in eyes.

Golly, the Bible is an interesting read. A bit slow, tedious, but when you seriously examine it... there's much inspiration to be had.
It's beautifullll, by the way. Really vicious-looking.

The wheels within wheels part kind of blows my mind, I cant even imagine how that would look!
In A Wind in the Door (3rd book in the series) a seraph is compared to a cluster of swarming dragons with spots of flame, eyes, and wings - a little more tangible than what the Bible suggests but not as terrifying.
I think this is the best depiction I've seen... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y1...../seraphim2.jpg (#1 tattoo choice. Old angels ftw)

Jeez, I know, right? Crystalline wheels with eyes on them floating around. Load up the shotgun.
I should really read this series. I used to see it on shelves all the time in like... grade school. I passed it up because it looked dull, ahaha.
Oh fuck yeah, that picture is rad. I would definitely get that.
Screw the pretty boys with wings. We need to see more of those.

They're kind of dull...more outdated I think. By the third book, L'Engle is struggling to create a story and I could recognize that in grade school. I ate up all that fantasy stuff back then though. What I enjoyed most about the series are the instances where the characters end up in these abstract situations or settings. Gave my imagination a workout.
