This right here is why there is less and less trust in commission artists anymore, when scammers do this crap.
I had one of them one time try to do the whole "Oh Im a commission artist and I do commission" BS, I went off on them like big time.

This is a terrible situation. I understand they've stepped up their efforts for the upcoming Christmas. I'm seeing a lot of messages from other artists saying the same thing is happening to them. It's terrible.
