I think the saddest part is that they're vets.Its like they put their life on the line and life kicked them in the ass.Its sad when we don't take care of our military men.

I used to walk around down town Omaha, trying to meep and hotograph many of the homeless people who live there.
I think everyone out there has a story to tell and some of the most amazing ones are those that never get heard because of how far some can be separated from most of society.

I know exactly what you mean. Even though about 99% of the homeless people I've met are idiots and arses, but I've met a couple of really cool ones. I was actually invited to join some for dinner back in São Paulo, when all my other friends could barely stand to look at hobos or were very much scared by them. It's funny how humans run away from things they can't comprehend o.o

But yeah, this picture - nice. I really like the theme and the title as well, I think they really complement the visual side of it. Well done, platyferret!

I imagine it's a tough life. Most of the homeless around here got that way either through drug abuse or due to mental illness, so... Yeah. Not generally the kind of people one wants to get to know. Although, there are a few who seem like pretty cool folk who've just been dealt a crappy hand.

well a lot of the mental illness are mild schizophrenia, mental retardation that isn't saver enough for them to qualify to live in a group home BUT still gave them trouble in finding a job and maintaining it and even just being antisocial can lead you too that

and most the ones around Iowa just ran into bad luck and lost there homes after their job laid them off and they could find a another job to support themselves
one of my co-workers became homeless after her room mate left his bong out and the land lord came over and saw it

she didn't even smoke marijuana

point is. there are many ways you can become homeless and the fact they can survive one nothing but scrapes is amazing

All the ones here in Columbia, SC just pester you for money and try to get you to go way out of your way to get them money.
