So this might be a little unexpected from me.
I do a bit of music composition on my own time. And full disclosure, production does not enter into that equation. This is purely playback in Musescore with a handful of decent sampler samplepacks and a custom synth patch in surge to make it sound a little nicer than just relying on MSGS. My brain just kinda works better with notation software than it does a piano roll editor.
This is more a proof of concept than anything else. I've actually be composing for a number of years now (embarrassing I know) so I kinda wanted to have SOMETHING for it here that I can link to rather than hoping I have the latest flac of x project to show someone as an example.
This is one of the more substantive things I wrote in the past month or two (embarrassing I know). Sort of a music box arrangement of another song that I might have to actually try to learn production for because the synthesized reed patch I have covering the "vocal" line currently doesn't really do the song much justice.
I mean at least here the budget sound of that MSGS harp and oboe kinda fit this like late 90s/early 2000s adv aesthetic I'm going for. Maybe I should've dusted off my MU1000 and made use of those nicer XG sounds. Ah well!
This little tune MIGHT (and that's a very tenuous might) return in a project of mine down the line in... years? lmao
