I can tell you more about the work, because it affects me personally: I tried to depict my depressive moods that make my life more difficult. Burying the head in the sand shows the isolation I need to cope with these moods and regain my strength. The ostrich's desire to be devoured by the hole indicates the suicidal desires to escape from this pain (no need to call for help, I already have professional help by my side).
