This fellow isn't a supporting character, but the concept I devised for this take on a classic villain who plays the lead antagonistic role in Shades of Green's fourth episode, was one I enjoyed devising and I was proud to commission NDA to draw out his design. Enjoy.
The only pirate of the golden age to rival Edward "Blackbeard" Teach for sheer infamy, Hook's origins were always something of a mystery prior to his emergence in the Caribbean in the 1710s. It wasn't until a side effect of one of his battles with Cyclone in 1967 that the truth of his past was revealed...and a great scandal followed his wake.
He was born into the the house of Stuart, though he was never directly in line for the throne he wasn't too far removed from it. An Eton graduate who went into the Navy and emerged a great naval hero of the day, Hook's life was shattered when he learned he was in fact a bastard son, and his actual father was a demon from Hell who had taken up residence in the colonies. While he held little animosity toward his mother, he had an insatiable desire to murder his father and traveled to the Caribbean accompanied by his batman, though a freak storm lead to his being believed legally dead, something he used to his advantage along with an assumed name and finding difficulty in his goals ended up joining Blackbeard's crew as he kept searching for his nemesis. When Teach eventually died however, Hook took to the seas with his own crew; and his quest for revenge ultimately lead him to become a full-on bloodthirsty pirate.
Eventually, the manhunt for his head lead to Hook searching the occult for a method of escape and learning of other dimensions successfully fled this world for an ageless archipelago that he hoped would allow him to return in a hundred years, the sentient island tolerated his presence largely because Hook provided a source of entertainment and exercise for the island's favorite resident, and whose severance of his right hand lead to Hook going off on another campaign of vengeance that would've kept him in Neverland indefinitely...had the Wutz Crisis of 1928 not taken that choice out of his hand. When a stray rift dragged him back to Earth, in New York circa 1963.
While the man was relieved to be in a place far from a certain apex predator, the vast changes of technology baffled him immensely...nevertheless he attempted to resume his criminal career after purchasing a webley, where his legend grew into a new form of infamy.
A burglary gone wrong had resulted in exposure to radiation that activated something within his half-demon blood, granted him greatly enhanced physical attributes, hellfire pyrokinesis, teleportation into his own flames...and the power to transform into a much stronger, downright feral version of himself. With these powers, he set upon carving out a sizable niche for himself in the New York underworld, in particular coming to blows with Cyclone more often than not.
After his past was unexpectedly exposed, the sheer scandal caused by the truth enraged him FAR MORE than Peter Pan ever had, and so even when the dimension of his old nemesis was finally available again, he refused to come back because of the vendetta he'd swore against ALL members of the Cyclone family.
Among the traits his mutation gave him, was a greatly extended life...because of this and his own hard work in staying alive, he's lived straight into the 21st century, and he still wants revenge against those 'wire weaving wretches'.
While the scandal that emerged from his past becoming revealed inspired a British historical satire novel, he had also inspired some other famous fictional villains over the years as well.
Captain Hook was made by J.M. Barrie, and now belongs in the public domain for anyone to use. Though this take on the character is mine.
