A pair of drones created The Scav to aid Spline. They have basic AIs, effectively serving as trained pets. The image is not to scale, on many fronts. It's something I worked up fairly quickly, to just give a basic idea of the drones' setups. I did make a goof, and wasn't able to attach the wings in a way that didn't look wonky. Sorry for that. But yeah, that's what the red "explosion" looking things are. Antigravity wings.
Scorpio is actually bigger, roughly the size of a large emperor scorpion. While normally he moves like a regular scorpion, he can reconfigure his walking spikes into wheels or tracks, as a situation might require. His arms have some basic manipulators, with a "parts grabber" type of device in the middle. Often found on one of Spline's shoulders when not needed to help with some task. Commonly tasked with retrieval of objects that Spline can't reach. Occasionally, Spline goes on artifact hunts, which is where Scorpio proves more useful than around the shop. The drill and laser, multiple mobility modes, and manipulators come in rather handy. Additionally, Scorpio has a compartment in his back that can house Dauber, for situations where it's more convenient. His tail bulb also contains a sensor and communications array, allowing him to send data directly to Spline in real-time, including data gathered by Dauber. Highly protective of both Dauber and Spline. Has a limited variety of male vocal lines that he can use to communicate ("Yes" "No" "10-4" "You're Breaking Up" "On it" "Done" "Sorry" "Caution").
Dauber is a little larger than a conventional wasp. Utilizes antigravity for flight, and flexible wing design, which allows the wings to be folded onto the back when not needed. She has more advanced manipulators than Scorpio, being intended to handle more precise, delicate work. A trio of micro lasers for soldering, a small laser for cutting or defense. Small drills that can bore into electronics casings without as much risk of damage to the circuitry within. Or punish someone for trying to swat her. When fully extended, Dauber's wings allow her to actually lift Scorpio up to 7ft in the air. Commonly sent into small places that Scorpio can't fit into, or tasked with aerial recon of a situation. While unable to transmit quite as far as Scorpio can, she can use Scorpio as a communications relay. Has a female voice, utilizing the same lines as Scorpio has. Often found riding on top of Spline's hat.
The thing that looks like a green fuse is what the people of Oktahv know as a "Glow Core". It's technology that was on the verge of mass production before the Cataclysm. All information on how they were made, and the facilities where they were made were destroyed. They can't be reverse-engineered because attempting to disassemble one (even via the most careful of methods and technomancy) causes it to explode. Evan a small one is capable of destroying multiple city blocks. The facility where they were created is now just a giant crater, half filled with sand. Fortunately, they are also highly resistant to impact, corrosion, and general mishandling. It's unknown if Glow Cores have a defined lifespan, as the ones that are found are over a thousand years old. Sizes range from roughly half the size of a grain of rice, to roughly the size of a person's forearm. Larger ones are commonly used to power electrical engines for heavy machinery. Hubs generally avoid using them as power sources, fearing that one day they may run out of power.
